The 'Advanced Editing' text tools are unwieldy to say the least. If you're using Adobe Acrobat 9 or earlier, the changes you'll be able to make will be extremely limited. Please note that you can't edit a PDF file with the free Adobe Reader - you need the full version of Adobe Acrobat to make changes.
